Join 麻豆视频 President Harry J. Elam Jr. in conversation with Jacqueline Woodson, author of Red at the Bone: A Novel, on Tuesday, August 18 at 2 p.m. This will be the first event in the College鈥檚 new Community Book Program, in which the entire 麻豆视频 community will be invited to read the same book and come together to discuss its themes and importance through shared programs.
The theme for this year is 鈥溌槎故悠 Reads Together: One College, One Book.鈥 Red at the Bone: A Novel is President Elam鈥檚 personal choice as the first community book. Woodson is the best-selling author of more than two dozen award-winning books. She is a four-time National Book Award finalist; a four-time Newbery Honor winner; a two-time NAACP Image Award winner, Former National Ambassador for Young People's Literature, Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award Laureate in 2018 and a two-time Coretta Scott King Award winner. Her New York Times-bestselling memoir, Brown Girl Dreaming, received the National Book Award in 2014. Her novel, Another Brooklyn, was a National Book Award Finalist in 2016.
