Classes at Â鶹ÊÓƵ are just a start. You can take classes at Caltech and Art Center, or even get a joint degree from Columbia, Caltech, or Keck Graduate Institute.
As a full-time Â鶹ÊÓƵ student, you can take courses at nearby Caltech in applied science, astronomy, engineering or other fields not taught here. While the program is usually not open to first-year students, you receive credit for all approved courses taken. No additional tuition payments are required.
Qualified students also can take advantage of the 3-2 Combined Plan in Liberal Arts and Engineering. This program comprises three years of study at Â鶹ÊÓƵ followed by two years at Caltech or Columbia University, resulting in a BA in the Combined Plan from Â鶹ÊÓƵ and a BS in a selected field of engineering from Caltech or Columbia.
You can take approved courses at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, one of the country's top-ranked art schools. The program is designed for art majors and not open to first-year students, but as with the Caltech exchange program, you receive course credit. No additional tuition payments are required.
With a competitive GPA and LSAT scores, Columbia Law School may admit you upon completion of your junior year at Â鶹ÊÓƵ into its Accelerated Interdisciplinary Program in Legal Education. Admittance to the program would enable you to earn your AB from Occidental and a JD from Columbia in six years.

Occidental students who aspire to become physical therapists will be guaranteed an interview and have priority consideration in the admissions process to the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences (MCPHS), Worcester campus. Applicants must complete the DPT pathway prerequisites, fill out an intent to apply form before Oct 15 of their senior year, and apply to MCPHS through PTCAS.
If you're interested in biotechnology, become a biochemistry major and maintain a 3.2 GPA in the necessary courses, you'll be guaranteed admission to the Keck master's in bioscience program. The Keck Graduate Institute is part of the Claremont Colleges.
